South African golfer Kieron van Wyk is building his brand with American sportswear leader Under Armour.
On Thursday, the athletic outfitter shared the announcement on their website. “Under Armour proudly welcomes Kieron van Wyk to its elite roster of golf athletes, reinforcing the brand’s commitment to equipping rising stars with cutting-edge performance gear,” the site said.
“As he prepares to take the next step in his career, Under Armour stands beside him, providing the innovation and support needed to fuel his success on golf’s biggest stages.”
The timing of the news hits as the College of Charleston senior makes his PGA TOUR debut this week at the Puerto Rico Open—five weeks after making headlines as the first amateur to win the APGA Farmers.
In Jan. 2024, the Golf NIL Watchlist athlete, who is 120th in the World Amateur Golf Rankings, became the first international college golfer to secure his P-1A visa. This move helped open doors for more lucrative NIL opportunities, including this one with Under Armour.
Sporting UA from head-to-toe, van Wyk joins the brand's exclusive list of NIL signees, including Miami’s Cavinder Twins and LSU’s Vyctorius Miller.
