Asterisk Talley and Anna Fang just gave women's college golf its biggest recruiting jolt of the year—with Talley choosing Stanford over turning professional and both joining forces as the Class of 2027’s defining duo.

Talley, the No. 1-ranked high school junior in the U.S. and 12th in the World Amateur Golf Ranking, brings an elite resume that includes winning the 2025 Junior PGA Championship, runner-up finishes at the Augusta National Women's Amateur and the U.S. Women's Amateur, and sharing low-amateur honors at the 2024 U.S. Women’s Open as the youngest competitor in the field.

Fang owns an impressive junior career highlighted by reaching the Round of 16 in the 2025 U.S. Girls' Junior, a third-place finish at the Junior PGA Championship, runner-up at the Mizuho Americas Open, third at the RLX Ralph Lauren Junior Classic, and sixth place at the Junior Invitational, positioning her as one of the nation’s top young talents.

Talley ranks No. 2 in the Golf NIL High School Girls Rankings; Fang is close behind at No. 6.

Stanford enters the 2025-26 season after back-to-back NCAA championship appearances, capturing the 2024 title. With four of the top five players in the World Amateur Golf Ranking on its roster, the Cardinal has built a proving ground like no other—one where both Talley and Fang can sharpen their games and fully seize NIL opportunities.

They'll arrive with NCAA revenue-sharing rules in place. Paired with the LPGA’s Elite Amateur Pathway (LEAP), where amateurs earn points toward exempt LPGA status, and the LPGA Collegiate Advancement Pathway (LCAP), granting top collegiate players Epson Tour access, this dual-track system reshapes the college decision and offers perfect timing for the future Stanford tandem to capitalize on these new opportunities.

Amid this new landscape, Talley and Fang can compete for national titles, build NIL portfolios through revenue-sharing and partnerships, and position themselves for a streamlined jump to the pro ranks, mirroring the path Lottie Woad blazed earlier this year.
