Oct 21, 2024—The University of Washington has launched Dawgs Unleashed, an internal NIL and influencer marketing unit led by former Husky athlete Joe Knight. The initiative aims to amplify student-athlete opportunities through partnerships with Seattle’s Fortune 500 companies and UW’s multimedia rights and official collective, Montlake Futures.

Focusing on branding, business development, and creative storytelling, Dawgs Unleashed positions UW at the forefront of NIL innovation while showcasing its athletes’ unique stories and Seattle's global business network. MORE

Oct 21, 2024—Harvard Athletic Director Erin McDermott warns that the university's inability to compete in the NIL space could hinder recruitment, particularly for low-income athletes. With no NIL collectives in place, Harvard lags behind schools offering lucrative deals to top prospects. While star athletes like Malik Mack and Chisom Okpara transfer to NIL-heavy programs, McDermott emphasizes Harvard’s long-term value: a "40-year decision" centered on education and alumni success. However, as NIL reshapes college athletics, Harvard must navigate its principles against rising financial pressures. MORE

Oct 24, 2024—The Ivy League’s refusal to embrace NIL collectives and athletic scholarships has sparked a mass exodus of top athletes to powerhouse schools. Basketball stars like Penn’s Tyler Perkins and Harvard’s Malik Mack joined the transfer wave, lured by lucrative NIL deals at schools like Villanova and Stanford. While the Ivy League clings to its academic-first values, critics argue this stance risks its place in Division I sports. “NIL is reversing the appeal of an Ivy League degree,” says Wharton professor Abe Wyner. For athletes, the choice is clear: cash now or tradition later. MORE

Oct 24, 2024—Basketball icon Cheryl Miller is calling out glaring inequities in the nearly $3 billion House settlement set to compensate student-athletes. The settlement allocates a staggering 90% of funds to male football and basketball players, leaving women athletes with just 10%—a move Miller warns reinforces historic undervaluing of women’s sports. Miller urges women to reject divisive narratives pitting sports against each other and demands equal pie slices for all. Highlighting decades of underfunding, she calls for bold leadership to push women’s athletics beyond “crumbs” and build a truly equitable future. MORE

Oct 24, 2024—TCU Athletics has unveiled a game-changer for donors: contributions to the Flying T Club NIL collective now earn TCU Frog Club Priority Points. Effective May 2, 2024, donors receive three points per $100, matching the Frog Club's unrestricted giving benefits. These points enhance access to premium seating and ticketing perks for postseason games.

“This initiative strengthens our NIL opportunities while rewarding donors who help recruit and retain top talent,” said Athletic Director Jeremiah Donati. With revenue-sharing plans and the TCU Horned Frog NIL Marketplace also in place, the Horned Frogs are primed to lead the NIL era. MORE
